Sri~Lanka….. 2003

Sri~Lanka 2003   The only way to travel the country was to hire ” tuk-tuks” or mini bus with driver about $20.00 a day (2003)  as it wasn’t safe to hire a car , Started off in Columbo and stayed in Negombo for a few night to get a feel for the country, then travelled to Kegalle,and Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Next stop was  Kandy which is the of home tea plantations,Took the Famous train to Nuwara Eliya and stayed in the “Hill Club” a throwback to British times,onto Badulla ,Tagalla for Safari still looking for “Ceylon Tiger”and took it easy along the coast to Galle and finally a train back to Columbo.and  visited a lot Buddhist Temples along the way.

“A true memorable Experience”  as I picked up a “sandfly bite” there !!!!!!!!! which gave me  two weeks in Hospital when i got home.
